Kim Ceccarelli

I grew up in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania in a small steel mill town where I lived among great cultural diversity. As a child, I was always drawing on any scrap of paper I could find. I went to college at Duquesne University and Wright State University and then worked many years first as a critical care nurse and then as a school nurse for underprivileged children. Through the process of time, I have been able to return to my first love of drawing and then painting. I choose to work with oils and pastels because of the intensity of the colors of both mediums and I am inspired by the interplay of lights and shadows. My life experiences and travels have given me the opportunity to paint a wide range of subjects both here and abroad. Through my art, I hope to foster a connection between the viewer and the profound beauty that surrounds us.
